If you thought you being in your 30s was still considered young, think again. According to Maggie Gyllenhaal, 37, Hollywood treats you as if you were 102!
Yep, you guessed it. It's Hollywood ageism at it's finest.
The actress recently revealed that she that she lost out on a movie role because she was "too old" to play a 55-year-old man's love interest on-screen.
"There are things that are really disappointing about being an actress in Hollywood that surprise me all the time," she told The Wrap. "I'm 37 and I was told recently I was too old to play the lover of a man who was 55."
The Golden Glove winner — who's starred in The Dark Knight and The Honourable Woman, to name a few — didn't go into detail about who turned her down and for what project, but the uncomfortable situation left her with mixed emotions.
"It was astonishing to me. It made me feel bad, and then it made me feel angry," she added, "and then it made me laugh."
And there you have it. Once you hit 30, might as well keel over and die because Hollywood views THIS...
